Water and Ice

How can we turn water into ice?

The children noticed how cold and frosty it has been outside recently, so we decided to do an experiment.  We left some water outside overnight to see what would happen…we found that we were left with some ice!  The children took turns to feel the ice and they decided that it was so cold that it felt like it was biting their fingers!

We tried another experiment, making our own snow!  We added water to some snow crystals and snow grew infront of our eyes, it was very exciting!  The snow and ice together made lots of frosty fun 🙂  Maybe you could make some of your own ice at home and see if it bites your fingers?

The children have been busy little elves, making some fantastic props for the Christmas Show this Friday (2pm) but since it is TOP SECRET we won’t be sharing any of those photos just yet…the children have also been busy creating colourful pictures using different shapes, hammers and pins 🙂

We have really enjoyed some musical ‘jamming’ sessions, the children have been so enthusiastic and we think that you can really tell from these pictures just how much they enjoyed themselves!

We are so looking forward to see you at the Christmas Show.  Our cheeky classroom ‘Elf on the Shelf’ asked me to tell you that he is SO impressed with how hard the children have been trying during their singing practice practising 🙂  He tries very hard to hide each day so he can see what the children are getting up to but they always manage to spot him, he’ll have to try a lot harder to outsmart them!

Thank you to everyone that donated pillow slips for the show, we really appreciate it and we now have enough for everyone 🙂

It has already been a little ‘Christmas Crazy’ as you’ll see from the photos below, however, we are going to enjoy much more Christmas excitement over the next couple of weeks!!
